TROUBLE IN TAMIL NADU
HUMAN RIGHTS ABUSES
Such incidents are currently happening in Tamil Nadu.
While investigating why all this is happening, some shocking information was received.
Is it wrong for an individual to post his views on social media? There is no place for this in the Indian Constitution. Why are such cruel attacks being launched on a human being.
What did he do wrong?
WHO IS THAT PERSON?
Shankar is an individual. He worked as a government office assistant. He wanted to criticize politics and got involved in that work. The then state government sentenced him to prison for the criticism he made. After that, he turned himself into a full-time freelance journalist and worked to expose corruption and make people understand.
SHANKAR AND THE MEDIA
People supported his political criticisms. He would post clear information on his social media posts pointing out the actions being taken against the ruling party and against the people, and his social media started playing an important role for him. He does not hesitate to point out the mistakes of anyone, and it continues to this day.
THE REASON FOR THE NAME SAVUKKU SHANKAR
This created an identity for himself in the media and gained good reputation among the people. He again became a very good independent journalist by uploading information through his media and letting the people know what is right and what is wrong in a very correct way.
Therefore, he was given the epithet Savukku Shankar to give him support for this brave act of opposing politicians.
SAVUKKU SHANKAR AND POLITICIANS
He collects information from high-ranking people in order to expose the false face of politicians who are making mistakes and uploads it in his media. Some of his clever blogs are still visible. Why should he do this? Isn't there a world-class media to do this! Because if the world-class media is unable to do anything against the ruling party, then every world-class media has the idea that if information is released against the ruling party, it can cause huge damage to that company. A reputable company would not think of setting such a target for itself.
He always points out the mistakes made by politicians and government officials, which angers the person who did it, so they tried to attack Mr. Shankar, whoever he may be.
ATTACK ON SAVUKKU SHANKAR
A video he posted recently about the corruption in vehicles provided to sanitation workers has become a hot topic of discussion. In response to this, on his way to his media office, as usual, some men and women dressed as sanitation workers attacked him on two occasions and pelted stones at his vehicle. After that, while his mother was in his rented house, they broke down the door of the house, damaged the belongings in the house, snatched the mobile phone belonging to Shankar's mother and showed them their disgusting acts on video calls. Not only that, they used obscene words and abused him. They also mixed feces with sewage and poured it all over his house and committed a disgusting act. https://youtu.be/fP_bsxcjaAw?si=TOsWd3D1AOtn86Sg
ACTION OF GOVERNMENT OFFICIALS
While this was happening, Mr. Shankar contacted the Tamil Nadu Police Control Room and asked for help to save him and his mother. After that, the police came to Shankar's house to take action on his call. Before that, the sanitation workers who had been involved in defamatory acts had left the place, so Mr. Shankar filed a complaint at the police station to find out who they were and arrest them.
IS FREEDOM OF EXPRESSION A CRIME?
The Indian Constitution has given an individual the right to freely express his views. Freedom of expression is a fundamental right, which is granted under Article 19(1)(a) of the Indian Constitution.
While the Indian Government has allowed this, there are many legal ways to oppose an individual's views, and the act of those who are in a state of depression due to the attack on individual activity is a very disgusting act. This will also give the Tamil Nadu government a way to bow its head.
GOVERNMENT'S POSITION
The Tamil Nadu government should take proper steps to protect itself from this current situation, otherwise in the eyes of the people, if action is not taken on this incident when the state elections are coming up next year or if there is no adequate and satisfactory result in this regard, it will affect the future elections.
No matter how angry, strict action should be taken against those who engage in such acts to attack a human being. No matter who it is, everyone is equal before the law. The people of India should understand this.
PUBLIC OPINION
People have expressed their condemnation through the media after seeing this event. Those who commit such heinous acts of attacking an individual should be given the strictest punishments as per the Indian Constitution. That punishment should create fear and intimidation in the minds of those who want to engage in such acts again. They should not come forward to do such acts. While this is happening to him now, it can happen to anyone in the future. People are expressing their concern through social media that action should be taken against government officials and politicians who are making such threats to a person who criticizes the government and points out its mistakes. While some government officials and politicians are supporting this, Mr. Shankar has decided to stop posting his videos on social media and has posted his final video and given a vote of thanks.
